Roger FernCompany SecretaryAfter almost 40 years in education in Suffolk, I retired 6 years ago. Much of Rogers career was spent in Ipswich, as teacher and headteacher, and in Suffolk as an adviser/inspector. As an adviser he was very pleased to help set up the Ipswich Town Community Trust, on the back of the first successful bid to central government for a Playing for Success centre.
In his teens, Roger moved as a family to Ipswich in 1957 when his father became Head of the School of Building at what was then called Ipswich Civic College. The name has changed to Suffolk New College, and has moved to an excellent new building. The College is a major partner in some of the Trust’s key programmes and Roger is vice chair of College Corporation. |
