Activ8 IT PLUS supports students from the ages of 7 to 16 on a healthy lifestyles curriculum covering issues relating to diet, exercise and food hygiene. The programme works alongside students within schools and at Ipswich Town Community Trust, both during normal school hours and also during the after school period. Activ8 IT raises awareness of healthy lifestyles in 2 ways –
1. Health Promotion in schools – Our Active8 IT coordinator will visit your school for 6 consecutive 2 hour lessons which will include classroom activities which promote the benefits of 
maintaining a regular exercise routine, the constituent parts of a balanced diet, food hygiene and creating healthy snacks. The visit will also include 60 minutes of physical activity. Aimed at school years 4,5,6,7 and 8 our Active8 IT Plus programme combines both fun and entertaining learning and exercise to teach children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle. All sessions are free of charge.

Starting on January 14th the Active8 IT Weight Management Programme will be running for 11 consecutive weeks from 4.30pm – 6.30pm. All sessions are free of charge.

The Community Trust’s Activ8 IT plus initiative is supported by both the Suffolk and Waveney & Great Yarmouth Primary Care Trust’s. The support from these Primary Care Trust’s and the Co-op is invaluable, making this healthy living project possible and ensuring its continuation.
