Ipswich Town Community Trust is the first football club to become a direct delivery partner for the Prince’s Trust. We are working in close partnership with Suffolk New College and the Learning and Skills Council to deliver the national Team Programme initiative and we are very proud of the terrific progress made since its inception in January 2007.
The Team Initiative is, a full time, 12-week programme for UK residents aged 16-25 who are currently unemployed. It offers excellent support and a real prospect of helping individuals make positive life decisions and to move on to new opportunities and employment.
Course Details:
The Team Program is for UK residents aged 16-25 who are currently unemployed.
It's free and will not affect a participant’s Jobseeker's Allowance.
Young people on the scheme will
- Be part of a team of 15 people for 12 weeks
- take part in a community projects of their choosing
- have an action-packed residential week
- get two weeks' work experience - perhaps at a football club or a profession of interest
- Gain practical skills that will help to secure a job or place on a new course
- Get expert career advice to help with job-hunting
All young people completing the course will be awarded a City and Guilds Qualification in Personal, Teamwork and Communication Skills (NVQ Level 1)
The Ipswich Town Community Trust runs 3 TEAM programmes each year.
More then 70% of unemployed participants go on to jobs, training or education within three months of completing the Prince’s Trust Team programme.

Programme Costs:
This course is offered free as a result of funding from the Learning and Skills Council.
Students on the course are able to claim travel costs and, if eligible, will receive an Education Maintenance Award (EMA). Funding is also available to cover the cost of childcare if required.
Participation on the course does not affect job seekers allowance.
Venue Details:
The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is delivered at Ipswich Town Football Club in the “Team Room” located within the Britannia Stand.
