For the last three years the Trust has offered a dedicated coach education and sports leadership programme to local schools, 6th Form Centre’s and Colleges.
These programmes have increased in popularity considerably over this period of time with the number of educational establishments now offering coaching and leadership awards to their pupils now reaching 14 in number.
It is estimated that in this present academic year the Trust will work with around 400 aspiring coaches and sports leaders in the programmes we offer.
The courses the Trust is able to offer includes:
Level 1 Certificate in Coaching
Safeguarding Children in Football Workshop
Emergency First Aid Workshop
Junior Football Organisers course
Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership
Level 1 Award in Community Sports Leadership
Level 1 Certificate in Coaching Adults
Key Stage 2 Curriculum course
Working with Teams course
Handling and Movement course
Mentoring Young Leaders course
Diversity and Equality Workshops
BTEC, NCFE Sports course support days
The success of these programmes has been reflected with our working partners increasing, with business arrangements in place with West Suffolk College in Bury St Edmunds, Otley College just north of Ipswich and Suffolk New College based in Ipswich helping support these courses.
We are also pleased to be recognised by both Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Football Associations with whom we deliver part of their coach education programmes.
Other organisations we have developed strong working relationships with include The Princes Trust and HM Prison Service, with whom we have delivered coaching programmes for young people.
